What a great 15 years it has been! JKL began with a two-man team and has grown to an unbelievable level. When the business first started back in 2009, our Managing Directors set out with a clear vision; to build a successful business rooted in having open and honest relationships with customers. Our customers trust us to deliver exceptional products and services, and we, in turn, trust them as valued partners in our journey. This commitment to openness and honesty serves as the foundation of our interactions, fostering long-lasting relationships that extend far beyond mere transactions. We strive to create an environment where transparency is not simply a buzzword but a guiding principle, infiltrating every aspect of our business operations.
Our motto “Ask us! You’ll be surprised at what we say yes to” runs through the core of our business, and its rewarding to see customers satisfied with our service. As stated by our Commercial Director Ann, “we’ve become really good at being able to say yes…to almost everything, no matter how impossible the request appears, we always seem to achieve what the customer wants, and we’re really proud of that”.

What we’re most proud of
Our Managing Directors Nick Miles and Nathan Rice, take immense pride in the journey of building something from the ground up and creating something that people care about. They firmly believe that the true strength of our company lies in the empowerment of our employees, who effectively steer the ship towards success without constant directorial intervention. This ethos of employee-driven leadership is what ensures the longevity of our business.
Central to the JKL ethos are the values of openness and empowerment, where our employees are encouraged to freely express themselves and contribute their own ideas. Here, the Directors serve as facilitators, offering unwavering support to nurture these ideas into fruition. This inclusive approach was particularly evident during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. When faced with the abrupt halt in traditional business avenues, our Commercial Director, Ann, embraced outside-the-box thinking by exploring alternative product offerings. Her initiative led to the expansion of our product line, enabling us to cater to new customer needs. This adaptability, derived from an environment that values employee autonomy and creativity, highlights our resilience as an organisation, and that’s something we are really proud of.
